District officials released a statement saying, “The Fox C-6 community is horrified and grieved by the tragic vehicle accident that resulted in the loss of a member of the Fox High School student body on Wednesday, Dec. 14. “We offer this student’s family, teachers, and friends our deepest condolences.
The statement read, “As we grieve this loss in our school community, the district is providing additional counseling support for any students and employees who need it to ensure they have the care they need.”
The Highway Patrol reported that the youngster was operating a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado southbound on Highway 21 at around 11:20 a.m. when it veered off the right side of the road north of mile marker 179.2, which is north of Highway M and south of West Four Ridge Road.
