SC KERSHAW COUNTY Authorities are looking into a collision that occurred Sunday night in Kershaw County and claimed the lives of two persons.

The collision occurred around 7 o’clock, according to Master Trooper Mitchell Ridgeway of the South Carolina Highway Patrol. in the vicinity of Belvis Road and Smyrna Road, around 6 miles north of Elgin.
A Chevrolet SUV that was pulling out of a private drive was struck on the driver’s side by a Harley Davidson motorcycle that was travelling north on Smyrna Road, according to Ridgeway.
The motorcycle’s 50-year-old driver was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. This victim, according to Ridgeway, was from Elgin. The passenger, a 51-year-old Cayce resident, was brought to Prisma Health Richland Hospital but passed away as a result of the collision’s injuries.
The 21-year-old SUV driver was also hurt and sent with unidentified injuries to Prisma Health Richland Hospital.

The Highway Patrol is looking into the collision. The names of the victims have not yet been made public by the coroner’s office.
