The very first brutal glance at the return of the actual character Sally Hardesty in Netflix’s Texas Chainsaw Massacre has arrived.

Just after the death of the initial actress Marilyn Burns in 2014, Fouéré has chosen to take over the iconic character of Sally Hardesty, who also showed up in the 1995 Next Generation film.

And, while the new trailer will undoubtedly give us several clues, we can say with confidence the personality is just as kickass as ever in the upcoming movie.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Release Date

On February 18, 2022, it will be available for streaming on all Netflix platforms.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Cast

Mark Burnham will take over the significant role of Leatherface from the late Gunnar Hansen.

And there’s been no further word on the cast’s other representatives. According to what we know, Leatherface has been concealing alone, but that doesn’t mean we won’t see any of his family members.

Chainsaw Massacre

Sally Hardesty is played by Olwen Fouéré.

Sarah Yarkin (from Happy Death Day 2U) will perform Melody, a business owner from San Francisco, among the newbies. Elsie Fisher will perform her adolescent sister Lila, a wheelchair-bound hobby photographer.

Dante, a good associate of the sisters who move to Texas, will be played by Jacob Latimore (from The Chi). Many other celebrities will appear, including Moe Dunford as Richter, Alice Krige as Mrs. Nell Hudson in the position of Ruth, Sam Douglas as Herb, and William Hope as Hathaway, the Deputies of Harlow.

In addition, John Larroquette will play his part as a storyteller from the initial Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Because this is a direct continuation to the 1947 original movie, we might see some familiar faces. It is still unknown because so many of the initial film’s actors had already died.

The Background of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre

The upcoming Texas Chainsaw Massacre is a direct continuation to the initial Texas Chainsaw Massacre, which was released in 1974. The entire horror film series consists of 8 slasher films that are not intimately correlated to the initial, as well as comic books and a video game relying on the 1974 film.

All of the storylines in the film series revolve around Leatherface and his relatives, who terrorize anybody who comes even close to their colonies in the faraway Texas rural areas. They are all insane killers, but the spotlight will always be on Leatherface.

He is overly monitored by his family and is identified for his heinous killing methods. Sally Hardesty, Leatherface’s main victim in the plot, manages to escape the lunatic by the final moment of the 1974 film after her entire family is murdered.

The ninth installment of the widely known film series, Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2022), picks up where the 1974 film left off. Sally will seek vengeance for her family’s murder well almost 50 years later in the upcoming film. At almost the same time, the town is getting newcomers, who would become victims of Leatherface as well.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2022) Plot

This all-new story will pick up where the 1974 film left off, with Sally Hardesty, the only survivor of the initial massacre, going to return to exact her vengeance on the cannibalistic murderer who slaughtered her companions.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre will be set nearly 50 years after the initial, similar to how Halloween (2018) continued the story after the old classic. The plot will pursue a circle of friends who move to Harlow, Texas, to set up a business, completely oblivious of the bloody brutal murders that occurred decades ago and continue to plague the town.

Another point they don’t realize is that the serial killer is still alive and has been residing in concealing ever since—that is until they unknowingly interrupt his highly protected existence. After decades of attempting to hide, the infamous chainsaw-wielding cannibal will eventually emerge from the darkness to resume his murderous rampage.

The new Texas Chainsaw Massacre will disregard all spinoffs following the original, which were mostly unconnected or even totally irrelevant to the first film.

For those who haven’t already seen it, the plot revolved around Sally and her colleagues discovering the Sawyer family home after examining reports of vandalized graves and then being slaughtered and devoured.

The plot revolved around Leatherface and his family, who used the psychologically deranged killer to do their bidders and terrorized anyone who crossed their region. The entire family was insane, but the spotlight has always been on the psychopath in a skin mask as he ruthlessly gobbled up Sally’s friends.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Trailer

The trailer shows us the chainsaw-wielding killer’s new aggressive and gruesome killings for the first time. It also taunts a confrontation between Leatherface and legendary last girl Sally Hardesty, who is decided to exact revenge on the mortalities of her brother and friends.

Because the Texas Chainsaw Massacre will be a follow-up to the initial horror film, audiences can predict the same violence that created the original so famous, and they’ll be relieved to realize it’s in safe hands.

The film will be released on Netflix on February 18, 2022. It has been indicated this can be Leatherface’s concluding phase, although to be honest: iconic movies never have endings. If fans enjoy this upcoming movie, there will most likely be more to come.
