MCGREGOR, Texas—The McLennan County Sheriff’s Office has released a photo of the man they think was behind the shooting spree in McGregor on September 29 that killed five people.

Nicolas Jaimes-Hernandez has been arrested and charged with the crime. He is being held for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and there may be more charges to come.

Monica Delgado, age 38, Miguel Avila, age 15, Natalie Avila, age 14, Lorena (Lori) Aviles, age 47, and Natalie Aviles, age 20, were all killed in the shooting.

The police say that when they got to the scene, Jaimes-Hernandez fired at them. He was shot by the police before he was taken into custody.

Reports say that the case is being looked into by local police and the Texas Rangers.

Family members say that Jaimes-Hernandez was married to Monica Delgado but was not the father of Miguel and Natalie Avila. Lorena and Natalie Aviles are said to have lived near Delgado.

The city of McGregor held a vigil for the people who died, and a GoFundMe page was made to help pay for the funerals.
