In Washington state, the woman whose trial testimony helped put Charles Manson and some of his murderous cult members in prison for life has died.

A death certificate that TMZ got shows that Linda Kasabian died on January 21 at a hospital in Tacoma and that her body was cremated. No one knew what caused her death. Kasabian was 73.

On the certificate, it said that she had changed her last name to “Chiochios” after getting away from the Manson Family to protect her identity.

Kasabian was given immunity in exchange for being a key witness for the prosecution in the Manson trial in 1970-71. She was there the two nights that Manson and his crazy followers killed 7 people in Los Angeles.

Kasabian testified for 18 days and gave very graphic details about how the murders in 1969 went down when Manson was in charge.

Recently, more notable individuals have passed away, and you may learn about them through our coverage:

Kasabian said in court that Charles “Tex” Watson drove her, Patricia Krenwinkel, and Susan Atkins to the home of the director Roman Polanski in Benedict Canyon.

She said that Tex, Krenwinkel, and Atkins shot and stabbed to death 5 people, including Sharon Tate, Polanski’s pregnant wife. Kasabian said in court that she saw the bloodshed, but she never hurt anyone physically.

Polanski was in Europe making a movie when his wife and their unborn child were killed. Kasabian also said in court that she was the driver on the second night of the Manson murders when Leno and Rosemary LaBianca were killed in their Los Angeles home.

In the end, Manson and his helpers were all found guilty of the murders and given life sentences because of Kasabian’s important testimony.

In 2017, Manson died in prison at the age of 83 after suffering cardiac arrest owing to complications from colon cancer.
