Minions: The Rise of Gru is an American animated film, and a sequel to the globally popular film, Minions. The upcoming film is also known as Minions 2 as the forthcoming movie will follow the story after the 2015 Minions film.
The prequel film took you to the early 1970s, where you have witnessed colorful clothes, disco music, retro art, disco music, and other things prominent in that era.
The character of Gru who is just a 12-year-old fanboy of a supervillain group named The Vicious 6, will play the antagonist of the show. Gru has a dream of becoming a supervillain and commenced a mission to achieve his goal with a newly created team which includes the group leader, Kevin, Bob, Stuart, and a new entrant, Otto.
Produced by Illumination and distributed by Universal Pictures, the film is coming to theaters this July.
The film is written by Brian Lynch (who also wrote Puss in Boots, Minions) and Matthew Fogel ( who also wrote, The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part).

Minions: The Rise of Gru Release Date
Minions: The rise of Gru was announced back in 2017, and Universal pictures scheduled its release in July 2020. However, due to the global pandemic of coronavirus and the restrictions in the said period, the studio has to stop the project.
As the situation improved, the makers have projected the release date to be July 2, 2021. However, once again, the production could not be completed on time.
Now, the makers have announced that Minions: The Rise of Gru will finally premiere on July 2, 2021, for United States theaters.
We hope for the timely release of the film this time after lots of delays.

Minions: The rise of Guru is a sequel to the 2015 movies, and it will show the events that happened after that movie. Minions will focus on the life of 12-year old Minion, Gru, who is living in the suburbs of the country.
Gru is a very ambitious boy and wishes to become the world’s most notorious supervillain.
For achieving his goal, he went to meet a renowned group of villains,
The Vicious 6, to become a member. To prove his worth to the group, he stole a precious stone with the aid of another member of his Minion gang.
However, things turned another way round. One of the team members of his gang lost the stone, due to which he had created the biggest enemy for himself.
In order to save himself and his comrades, he went straight to the former leader of the Vicious 6, Wild Knuckles from whom he wished to replace.
But the mission of becoming a supervillain isn’t a piece of cake.
