Overlord is an anime based on a light novel series written by Kugane Maruyama and illustrated by So-bin. It is an anime by Madhouse. The director of the anime TV series is Naoyuki Ito.
Overlord Season one got introduced in 2015, after which two other seasons also got launched in 2018. Each season consisted of 13 episodes, and fans loved all of them. Based on the popularity, Madhouse decided to renew it for another season.
It is an outstanding isekai anime series that contains dark fantasy elements. The story revolves around the main character named Ainz Ooal Gown, previously known as Momonga.
He gets transported into a famous online game known as YGGDRASIL. The server shuts down at that time, and he gets stuck in it. Then he begins to explore the world out of curiosity.
The confirmed news of the fourth season came out in May 2021, after which some information about the start of the new season came out.
Overlord Season 4 Release Date
Madhouse made an official announcement about the fourth season that it will begin in July 2022. The countdown of the next season has already started. There are only a few months left for the new episodes of Overlord.
The information for the release date came out along with the second PV trailer for Overlord. The recent trailer gave us a better look compared to the previous trailer of Season 4. All the main characters made their appearance in the trailer. Some significant fight sequences were also present.

Overlord has also received a new anime movie which will be based on Holy Kingdom Arc. However, no release date or trailer for the film has been launched yet. Overlord Volumes

The light novel series hasn’t come to an end yet and is still ongoing in 2022. However, the conclusion is not far away. The author of the series has mentioned it to be 17 volumes long. On 12th March 2020, the 14th volume came into existence. The 15th volume is also all set to release on 30th June 2022.
Overlord Season 4 will cover the 10 and 11 volumes along with the end of the 12th volume. Three light novel volumes will appear in the fourth season. The new movie will probably be based on the 13th volume.
