Destiny 2 Release Date

Destiny 2 will receive a new expansion on February 22 as announced by Bungie on its website. This new update was supposed to come out last year. However, due to the pandemic and some other company issues, the release date was pushed back.

Destiny 2 New Updates

Power Caps

The Witch Queen is going to be Destiny 2’s most phenomenal expansion. It will feature updated power caps. Players will be able to access the Witch Queen Campaign as soon as it releases as all of them will get an appropriate Power Level boost. This also applies to gamers who’ve recently taken a few weeks/months off from the game.

The Power level floor will increase to 1350 so that all dropped items are at 1350 power level. Then, players can make use of the general gameplay to reach the soft cap which is 1500 Power.

They can complete activities, open chests, and do much more to get earn general gear. Once the soft cap is attained, they will need to complete hard objectives to get powerful drops.

This will increase the power cap to 1550 and players can then get Pinnacle rewards. The final power cap, 1560, can be reached by participating in raids as well as other endgame PvE sources.

Blue Drops Reduction

Moreover, Bungie has also announced its decreasing blue drops in the game. This means that rare weapon and armor drops will be reduced. This is great because they’re not useful and take up a lot of inventory space!

The blue drops are only usable when players level up in a new expansion. They help them from 1350 power level to 1500 soft cap power level. However, once they reach the 1500 markup, the blue drops become useful as players only need Legendary drops after that.

The new update allows players to get blue drops till they hit the soft power cap. Then, blue drops from playlist activities such as Crucible matches will stop.

Mods

Mods will also be removed from the Witch Queen Expansion. Instead of mod components, Banshee-44 and Ada-1 will now require 10,000 Glimmer, each to give players weapons and armor. The Arc Analyzer, Omni- Telemetry, void analyzer, and Solar Analyzer mods will also be removed.

Dead Man’s Tale and Hawkmoon

The Presage and Harbinger Exotic quests will be removed from the game. Thus, players won’t be able to get the Dead Man’s Tale and Hawkmoon rewards will be harder to get. Now, players can get them from Xur’s inventory each weekend.

Location of The Witch Queen Raid

The location for the raid is in Savathun’s Throne World. After entering the world, players need to locate the pyramid ship and enter it to begin the raid. Bungie described the raid on its website saying, “venture inward and confront the ancient danger imprisoned within.”

The contest mode rules, rewards, and raid names are unknown as of yet. However, Bungie promises to let fans know more soon.
