After three years, Dozier collaborated with Simply Red’s frontman Mick Hucknall on the songs “Infidelity” and “Suffer” for the group’s second album, Men and Women, a British pop-soul hybrid. Together again in 1989, they collaborated on the songs “You’ve Got It” and “Turn It Up” for Simply Red’s second album, A New Flame.

The song was sung as a duet by R&B singers Peabo Bryson and Regina Belle.
