According to a news statement from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, the guy was struck in a campus parking lot at around 7:30 in the morning. When paramedics arrived, he was unresponsive and had already been pronounced dead.

The fatality was eventually revealed to be Ralph Barragan, 63, a tram driver for Mt. SAC’s access program for students with disabilities. He has been in the position for 15 years.
