The first week of The Night Agent, a Netflix action-thriller series that has taken the world by storm, has been crazy. The show made Netflix history when it was picked up for a second season just Six days after it first aired.

Even though the next part of Peter Sutherland’s story won’t come out until 2024, the show is still drawing in new viewers and die-hard fans. If you haven’t seen it yet, you might be wondering what this new show is that everyone is talking about.

What is The Night Agent about? Is it a new show that I should watch and care about? Here’s what you need to know about the show’s plot and whether you should add Netflix’s most popular show to your list of things to watch.

What is the Story of The Night Agent?

The Night Agent is based on Matthew Quirk’s book of the same name. But the show, which was created by Shawn Ryan, who also made The Shield and S.W.A.T., takes some creative liberties that aren’t in the book.

In the series, a low-level FBI agent who works in the White House answers the Night Action phone and finds himself in the middle of a huge political plot. Rose Larkin (Luciane Buchanan), who had to run away from the people who k!lled her aunt and uncle, is put under Peter’s care.

Do you want to know when the second season of The Night Agent will be available on Netflix? Then check out what we’ve written about it:

Together, they figure out who her aunt and uncle really are, what they knew about the bombing in the metro, and how it all ties in with Peter. The show also has a parallel story about the Secret Service agents who are in charge of protecting the Vice President’s daughter while she is in college.

Even though their stories don’t seem to have anything to do with Peter and Rose’s, the Secret Service agents and the Vice President’s daughter soon play a big role in figuring out what happened with the metro bombing.

Here’s what Netflix says about the movie:

“Based on the novel by Matthew Quirk, The Night Agent is a sophisticated, character-based, action-thriller centering on a low level FBI Agent who works in the basement of the White House, manning a phone that never rings — until the night that it does, propelling him into a fast moving and dangerous conspiracy that ultimately leads all the way to the Oval Office.”

Is It Worth Watching the Night Agent?

If you want to watch The Night Agent but aren’t sure if it’s worth your time, here’s what you need to know before you hit play. The show has already been picked up for a second season, so you don’t have to worry about it being canceled while you watch it. We now know that there will be another season.

In the same way, both critics and audiences have mostly liked the series, which is reflected in its Rotten Tomatoes scores: 74% from critics and 81% from audiences. Like any show, it won’t be for everyone, but the fact that over 168 million people watched it in its first four days shows that it’s worth watching.

The Night Agent might not be as good as some Emmy-winning shows, but it is a very fun, action-packed thriller that will keep you interested for 10 episodes. It could be one of the best shows on Netflix this year. If that sounds like something you’d like to watch, then it’s a Netflix show you should definitely check out.
