Vikings gained the attention and intrigues of all since the very first season. Vikings had all the ingredients of a great show and a show that was meant to leave behind a legacy and now as the Vikings have come to an end after the grand finale of season 6.
The shoes that have been left empty are really hard to fill in. Vikings 6 finale was a blast and gave a decent end to the story that we have loved so far of Ragnar Lothbrok, Lagertha, and various sons of Ragnar.
Season 7 is not on the table and we won’t be seeing one but the fans need not be disappointed as a proposed spinoff is already in the pipe, Which is Vikings: Valhalla. It will be around 100 years from the events that happened in season 6.
Vikings is loosely based on Nose and Icelandic myths and stories and were based in the year 793 as it began its season 1, Fans can however expect the locations and other things to follow from the original Vikings, like the return to Kattegat and other strings will be pulled that will be related more and more to the original Vikings.
Vikings Valhalla Release Date
As per official sources and information, the show is all set to air on February 22, 2022. The show that originally aired on the History channel is going to release this spinoff on Netflix and we know for sure that it will be one of the best performing shows on Netflix.
What makes us say so, you ask, well Come let’s give you a walk and traverse you through the plot that is most likely to follow in the series.
Vikings Valhalla Plot
Vikings aired first in 2013 and since then has been the apple of the eye of the fans, since it has so fantastically and realistically laid down the fascinating picture of Norse culture and history, though they might be disputed the fans vehemently support each and every part of the story told by the makers on the screen.
It is expected that the backdrop of the series will be set in the 11th century of England and Scandinavia. We will see Erik the red landing in North America and witness the fate that followed for the small settlement of Ubbe(Ragnar’s second-oldest son).
Hirst said that Kattegat has become one of the greatest ports of Europe and further says that “Whenever [Vikings: Valhalla’s characters] meet in the great hall in Kattegat, of course, they talk about the great heroes who used to sit in the same hall at the same table, and they were Ragnar Lothbrok, Lagertha, and Bjorn Ironside, and Ivar the Boneless, who are now mythic characters even within the show… So everything connects in a useful, and interesting, and fascinating way.”
Vikings Valhalla Cast
As per the official reports, sources, and announcements made by the makers, the information that we have been able to collect is that the characters from the Norse stories that will form part of Vikings.
Valhalla is Leif Erikson also known as Leif the lucy, a Norse explorer from Iceland who is believed to be the first European to set foot in North America, Freydis Eiriksdottir the daughter of Erik the red, who contributed substantially to North America’s expedition by the Norse, Harald Hardrada, the king of Norway between 1046-1066, and William the Conqueror are amongst the few characters that will feature on-screen in the show.

It is also being said that Erik the Red might also appear on the show. This may confuse many as the red-haired man has featured previously in season 6 and who was also called Erik and who ruled the kingdom of Kattegat with queen Ingrid by her side.
But as the Vikings are heavily influenced by myths and fiction and the experts are divided as to the exact chain of events and this has provided the makers greater liberty and exposure to sketch the characters and their on-screen portrayal. So, seeing another Erik in the red, even after 100 years won’t take the fans back.
The star cast that will be part of the Vikings: Valhalla will include:

Vikings Valhalla Trailer/teaser
The first look depicts the Norse heading towards a golden land and doing what they do best and that is conquering and that too on boats, the first look is very much nostalgic and we see the navy of the Norse approaching the mainland.
We hear an old lady saying in the background that “change is happening and we must be ready”. The first look is having all that Vikings glamour and vibes and the screenplay manifest finesse. What is to be seen is if the magic that Ragnar, Bjorn, and his other sons have created in the original Vikings will remain intact or not.
