On Tuesday, the grounds of the White House were invaded by a small intruder, which prompted a rapid response from the United States Secret Service.

According to Anthony Guglielmi, the chief of communications for the Secret Service, a toddler was able to climb over the fence on the north side of the White House, which caused security warnings to be triggered.

Gugliemli said-

“The Secret Service Uniformed Division today encountered a curious young visitor along the White House north fence line who briefly entered White House ground.”

“The White House security systems instantly triggered Secret Service officers and the toddler and parents were quickly reunited.”

This is not the first time a little child has scaled the White House fence and entered the grounds. In a situation quite similar to this one, which occurred in 2014, a young child managed to climb over the White House fence right before former President Barack Obama was going to give a speech to the country about Iraq.  As a result of the breach, a temporary lockdown was implemented, and the briefing was held up.
Edwin Donovan, then a spokesman for the United States Secret Service, said-

“We were going to wait until he learned to talk to question him, but in lieu of that, he got a timeout and was sent on his way with parents.”
