Epic fantasy adventure on Amazon Prime Video has been well received by both critics and consumers. The programme is based on a popular book series, with a total of 14 volumes. Each book is rather lengthy, providing enough of material for the show’s writers to work with.

No air date has been set, but we do know that production on the second season of The Wheel of Time began before the programme premiered in July 2021, wrapped up in May 2022, and ended with a behind-the-scenes teaser.
The post-production work for The Wheel of Time will likely push out the release date until late 2022 at the earliest, maybe to November 2022 to coincide with the premiere of the first season.

Who will play what role in Season 2 of “The Wheel of Time?”
Inevitably, Daniel Henney’s Lan Mandragoran and Rosamund Pike’s Moiraine will be back for further adventures. Our Two Rivers youth heroes will be back as well. The cast includes a return by Zoe Robins in the role of Nynaeve al’Meara and a debut from Josha Stradowski as Rand al’Thor.
Barney Harris, who played Mat Cauthon, however, will not be returning. Dónal Finn, an Irish actor, has replaced the previous actor hired in this part. Barney’s exit is still a mystery, especially since the actor has removed his social media accounts and offered no formal explanation.
Next season will have recurring roles for Ceara Coveney, Meera Syal, and Natasha O’Keeffe. Coveney will play Elayne Trakand, while the roles of O’Keeffe and Syal remain unknown at this time.
In the books, Elayne Trakand plays a pivotal role as one of the most potent Aes Sedai in the plot, therefore we anticipate that she will have a similar role in the programme. For Coveney, this is a huge break as it’s her first significant acting role. The casting of Ayoola Smart as Aviendha, an Aiel Maiden of the Spear, was announced in April 2022.

Where can I see the first season of The Wheel of Time?
Since it was created by Amazon Studios just for Amazon Prime Video, The Wheel of Time may only be viewed there. In 2021, on November 19th, the first season of The Wheel of Time was made available online. Initially, Amazon dropped all three episodes at once, and from there on, they’d drop one every Friday until the series finale on December 24, 2021. In total, there are eight episodes.
