The Night Agent is Netflix’s newest thriller series. It’s a 10-part political drama with a lot of twists and turns, like 24. FBI agent Peter Sutherland finds conspirators inside the government, rogue assassins, and a murder witness named Rose who he needs to protect if he ever wants to find answers.
Based on the book by Matthew Quirk, the series is co-produced by Shawn Ryan of The Shield and SWAT and Seth Gordon of The Good Doctor. The cast includes Hong Chau, who was nominated for an Oscar for The Whale, Fola Evans-Akingbola of De@th in Paradise and Siren, and DB Woodside of Lucifer.
Gabriel Basso, widely known for his appearances in the films Super 8 and The Big C, leads them all as Peter, an actor whose real-life action-hero background made him ideal for the part.
Ryan in an interview with TV Insider revealed –
“He almost became a Navy SEAL until he got a torn labrum [shoulder].”
“I joked with him: ‘Peter’s not as badass as you are in real life’.”
So, is Peter/Gabriel tough enough to make it through more than one season of bomb plots and attempts to kill him? Could his Night Agent be coming back for another mission soon?
Do you know that Sarah Michelle Gellar, better known as Buffy, changed from a monster hunter in Sunnydale to a moody werewolf in the first season of Wolf Pack?
There were rumors that Ramsey was a retired Buffy, but the penultimate episode showed who she really was. Then, will there be a second season of Wolf Pack? Let’s start and figure it out:
The Night Agent Season 2 Release Date
At the moment, there are no plans for a second season of The Night Agent. However, if the show does well on Netflix, that could change.
The first season of The Night Agent was filmed for six months in 2022, from February to July. It didn’t come out until March 23, 2023, eight months later, on Netflix. So, if the production schedule for a possible second season is the same, we could expect to see new episodes about a year after filming starts.
