Colin and Isaac Have It Out- At the start of Episode 9 of Season 3 of Ted Lasso, the Richmond team is shown having a blast during practice. Roy is convinced that the decision to shift tactics was wise.

Things aren’t so great, though; Isaac seems to be neglecting Colin. When Colin suggests they get a beer and have a discussion, he flatly declines. Keeley shows Rebecca the long series of texts she sent Jack, all of which went unanswered. Rebecca understands.

As per usual, Ted brings biscuits, but he also asks Rebecca if he may miss the press conference to attend a parent-teacher conference with Henry’s teacher. Rebecca and Keeley inform Roy that he can attend the conference in his place.

Here is the official trailer for the third season of Ted Lasso, which can be found below-

Jade pays Nathan an unexpected visit at his office in West Ham. Rupert takes over the introductions and makes the sarcastic remark that she’s probably too good for Nate.

When Leslie sees Rebecca, she approaches her to inquire about the press conference. She heads downstairs and finds the press and Coach Beard having it out over Jimmy Page and Joe Walsh.

She takes charge and does the best she can, only to track down Roy and order him to her office for a stern talking. He goes along with it grudgingly. After failing in his attempts to make contact with Isaac, Colin seeks guidance from Trent. Trent advises him to be patient with Isaac for now.

Rebecca calls Roy into her office to discuss his carefree demeanor and encourages him to get it together.

Rupert enters Nathan’s office to see if he needs anything before their impending bout, but Nathan appears to be just as ready as ever. Rupert calls Jade “Kate” since he can’t recall her real name during a conversation.

Rupert invited Nate out for a “guys’ night” on the day of the game. On the same day as West Ham plays Southampton, Richmond takes on Brighton. Jack tells Keeley by text that she is in Argentina and will be there for the next few months, indicating that the two are no longer together.

As a result of Isaac’s distraction, Brighton scores first, and Richmond has a rough start. At halftime, as the supporter yells a slur against the team’s gay player, Isaac loses his temper and joins in. A red card results from him charging into the stands to fight a spectator.

Inside the changing room, Ted inquires Isaac about what occurred. Isaac erupts that no one should have to deal with anything like this, and then leaves the room as the matter is explained to him and everyone tells him to ignore what the fan said.

Isaac is upset about something, but Roy advises him to go deal with the underlying cause of his anger instead. The rest of the squad thinks Isaac is gay because of how he reacted to their leader, who is straight.

Colin gets up and comes out to everyone when the conversation sparks the idea in his head. Everyone instantly loves him for who he is. Ted interrupts one of the players who say they don’t care about his sexual orientation to insist that they do.

They are concerned and will provide him with all the help they can. Colin tells Trent afterward that everything went better than he expected. They continue the game without Isaac, and Richmond ends up victorious thanks to two goals set up by Colin.

West Ham also comes out on top. As Nathan gets ready to go out with Rupert, Jade sends him a text message of congratulations. When they finally meet, they’re both out on a ‘boys’ night,’ so Rupert introduces them to two women at the club.

Ted Lasso Season 3 Episode 9

Nathan has a change and informs Rupert that he must leave. Instead, he visits Jade at her place of residence, where he enthusiastically embraces her.

Roy volunteers to replace Ted at the upcoming news conference. When asked about Isaac’s actions, he responds by saying they were wrong but giving allowance for the fact that football players are human beings.

And no one has any idea of the struggles they face. While Rebecca watches, she gives him a satisfied nod. One day, Isaac decides to confront Colin about his inability to tell him the truth.

As far as Colin is concerned, it was more about himself than it was about Isaac. He then invites Isaac inside, where the two engage in more discussion about sex positions, showering with the men, and the most gorgeous player on the team (Bumberbatch) while playing a football video game.

The Episode Review

I’m not convinced it was a good idea to center this episode nearly entirely on Colin. I respect the series’ desire to shed light on the experiences of LGBTQ individuals, but I found the plot to drag on at times. And there wasn’t much there that set it apart from any other TV coming-out narrative.
Rebecca’s scolding of Roy was so direct as to feel random, and it was just one of two average narrative lines in this episode.
But that doesn’t mean it was a terrible episode. Some of the exchanges between Beard and the reporters during his heated debate over the musicians made for some amusing scenes.
However, a normal episode does feel like a loss since the Ted Lasso show has grown known for breaking cliches and finding inventive ways to propagate goodwill.
