Steven Seagal, who is an iconic American star who gave wonderful movies like Attrition, The Asian Connection, Beyond the Law, has made a controversial career move, as per reports. He is also known for his amazing martial arts skills. Seagal who has a friendship with Russian President Vladimir Putin and a Russian Citizen has started his political career by joining a pro political party named A Just Russia-Patriots- For Truth. On May 30, 2021, the party officially confirmed that Steven Seagal is now an official member of the party and released a video showing the official membership card issued to Seagal.
Seagal tried to get involved in politics many times. In 2003, He urged the Leadership of Thailand to establish a law for protecting baby elephants from cruelty and mistreatment. He also received a PETA Humanitarian Award in 1999. During an interview with Rossiyskaya Gazeta way back in March 2014, Seagal illustrated Vladimir Putin as “one of the great living world leaders.” He stated concern for the annexation of Crimea by Russia. In 2014 July, when everyone was asking to boycott him, Seagal was discarded from the list of the August Blues Festival in Haapsalu, Estonia.
The minister of Foreign Affairs, Urmas Paet, Estonian musician Tonis Magi, and Marko Mihkelson, who is Parliament’s Foreign Affairs chairman, all of them abject calling Seagal into the country, where Paet also said that “Steven Seagal has tried to participate in politics during the past few months actively and has done it in a way which is unacceptable to the majority of the world that respects democracy and the rule of law.“In August 2014, Seagal was seen at a Night Wolves organized show in Sevastopol, Crimea, where he was standing for the Crimean annexation and portraying Ukraine as a country regulated by racists, after which Ukraine banned him since he “committed socially dangerous actions.”
Seagal called out opposing the proclaims in between the United States national anthem made by professional athletes, said: “I believe in free speech, I believe that everyone’s entitled to their own opinion, but I don’t agree that they should hold the United States of America or the world hostage by taking a venue where people are tuning in to watch a football game and imposing their political views.” Along with that, he expressed agnosticism of Russian intervention in the United States elections 2016.
Seagal got together with Tom Morrissey, former chair of the Arizona Republican Party, for working on the script of a self-published confederacy thriller novel, The Way of the Shadow Wolves: The Deep State And The Hijacking Of America in 2017.
In 2021, Seagal presented a katana sword to Nicolás Maduro, a Venezuelan politician, as Foreign Affairs Ministry, a special diplomat of Russia.
Seagal’s political news came following Netflix recently, adding Under Siege, which is widely recognized to be his finest movie, to its streaming platform. In this movie, Seagal acts as Chief Petty Officer named Casey Ryback, an ex-navy SEAL and now working on the USS Missouri as the personal cook of the captain. When ex-CIA operative William Strannix Tommy Lee Jones, and his team start their siege, it’s totally up to Ryback to hold them and retake control of the ship.

Under Siege 2: Dark Territory was also released in 1995, but That film didn’t do as well-received as its first part but still earned over $100 million at the box office against a budget of $60 million.
