“After more than a decade finally the gaming geeks have got the glimpse of Skate 4”.

Skate is a skating video game developed and published by EA Black Box. Skate was first launched in 2007 for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and mobile phones. Skate is a video game in which players create their characters in the game to roam around a town to become the top skater.

Skate performed well and consequently, EA launched the Skate 2 in 2008 and Skate 3 in 2010. Since then, the fans have been waiting to play the next installment in the series.  Well, after a decade i.e., in June 2020, EA publicized its plans for the next Skate game (Skate 4). EA has not revealed numerous details about the upcoming game, but we all know that the game is in the early development stage.

The recently leaked footage of pre-alpha has confirmed the same. Well, let’s see more about the recently leaked pre-alpha footage.

Skate 4 Pre Alpha Footage Leaked

Skate 4’s early pre-alpha gameplay footage has arrived today as sparking water on the burning desire of the gaming geek to get a glimpse of the game.

Skate 4 is a highly anticipated game and now the fans are relaxed that the game is in the early development stage. Electronic Arts, the publisher of the game, in EA Play 2020, had disclosed that the crucial members of the EA Black Box team are heading the production of the game. EA has allowed a studio named Full Circle in Vancouver, Canada, especially for the production of Skate 4, and its doors opened for the first time in early 2021.

Skate 4

David McCulloch who was the former Xbox Live executive is acting as Full Circle’s General Manager. Skate veterans Deran Chung and Cuz Parry have taken the charge of franchise’s next chapter. Since the project’s initial launch over two years ago, little information has emerged. Some of the minor tidbits of information given in the previous year or so include behind-the-scenes footage and word that Skate 4 would be released on PC.

Furthermore, Andrew Wilson, Electronic Arts CEO, stated during a February 2022 earnings call that the next Skate title may be released shortly. Another report on the game’s progress has now leaked online. Pre-alpha video of Skate 4 was leaked online via Odysee. The information is revealed by the famous reporter Jeff Grubb of VentureBeat (via Push Square).

If you check today, Odysee URL has longer any Skate-related content. However, the tweet made by Grubb still has around 30 seconds of gameplay. If you see the leaked video, you will see a character skateboarding and roaming across crudely constructed city streets and skate parks. According to Grubb, and as indicated by the gameplay, Full Circle devs are now focused on achieving the “correct feel.”

In a follow-up article, Grubb highlighted that the aforementioned pre-alpha version implies EA is allowing its production teams plenty of time for preparing the prototype of Skate. Full Circle could benefit from this, especially considering Skate 4’s emphasis on a quest and user-generated content.

As of this writing, it’s unclear when the studio will be ready to show off the game in its entirety, although most would say it’s ideal if everyone involved takes their time. In 2007, the first Skate game was released, showing a new age of skating video games.

The EA Black Box franchise deviated significantly from the gameplay concept created by the popular Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater series, ensuring the emerging brand had its own identity. Skate looked to ride off into the sunset without looking back, despite the fact that two sequels were released in 2009 and 2010, respectively.

Skate 4 Release Date

EA Black box has not revealed the official release date so far. AS already stated the game is in Early development so it will take around two to three years to complete the game. The is expected to arrive in 2024.
