Lead singer Sean Martin was a member of the Liverpool-based indie pop group The Night Café. The band formed in 2013 and took its name from a Vincent van Gogh painting.
They rose to fame with their poignant and appealing indie pop tunes. The group put out two EPs: “Bunkbed” in 2018 and “Get Away from the Feeling” in 2017. 2019 saw the release of “0151,” their debut complete album.
His fans and fellow musicians were in mourning following his unexpected demise at the age of 26. Not only was he regarded for his musical ability, but also for his kind disposition.
Sean Martin Illness
Martin reported in April 2022 that he was having health problems that required surgery, but he did not provide details regarding the nature of his ailment. He wrote:
“Some of you may know that I’ve been struggling with my health for the past couple years, which has been a huge obstacle for TNC an to be honest its been a pretty hard an shit time for us all. Thankfully though I’ve recently had a diagnosis which explains whats been going on.”
He added:
“But unfortunately it means I need to go into surgery next week. (on my birthday) That means we are sorry to say we have to pull out of @wombatsofficial shows this month. We are wounded but to be honest.”

When Did Sean Martin Die?
The Night Cafe shared a touching message and a picture of Sean Martin on their Instagram page on November 6, 2023. As they said:
“We are devastated to share the sudden passing of our best friend Sean. Words can’t describe the pain we are feeling right now, we’re still struggling to process it all. We ask everyone to respect the privacy of Sean’s family and friends during this difficult time.”
They added:
“Sean was not just our band mate, he was our childhood best friend that we shared so many memories with before the band even started. We made so many more memories along the way and achieved things we only dreamt of that we will cherish forever. His memory will live on forever in our hearts and through the music he put out into the world for you all. RIP Sean Martin”

Once upon a time, The Night Cafe opened for The Wombats, who lauded the late lead vocalist as the nicest and most pleasant person to have on tour.
The Wombats commented:

What is Sean Martin Cause of Death?
Sean Martin, the main vocalist of The Night Cafe, has away, but neither his family nor his fellow musicians have disclosed the cause of death. Though nothing is proven, several sources speculate that it might be connected to the health problems he disclosed last year.
