Reports say that Russell Heller, a local council member in New Jersey, was shot and killed in his car exactly one week after Eunice Dwumfour.

Around 7 a.m. Wednesday, police got a call that someone had been shot at the PSE&G building in Franklin Township.

The Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office says that Heller, who was 51, was found shot to death outside of his car. Reports say he was a senior distribution supervisor who had worked for the company for 11 years and a councilman in Milford, a small borough in Hunterdon County.

Milford Mayor Henri Schepens told digital news content provider NJ.com

“The Milford Borough Council is deeply saddened by the loss and our hearts go out to his family.”

“He was so full of life, it’s just unbelievable that he’s gone. Something like this has never happened in borough history. We are very shaken by this.”

Gary Curtis, 58, was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound at 10:20 a.m. in a car in Bridgewater. The Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office said that Curtis was the person who shot the man.

Curtis was reportedly a former PSE&G employee who shot Heller and then drove to Bridgewater, where he killed himself.

There is plenty of other recent celebrity news that you can read about:

The murder happened a week after Eunice Dwumfour, a councilwoman in Sayreville, was shot multiple times and found dead in her car. Police haven’t found a clear reason for Dwumfour’s death or a suspect.

Police are still trying to figure out why Heller was killed. According to PIX 11, the utility company hasn’t said anything about how he and Curtis worked together, if at all.

Investigators think that the shooting happened only once and that Heller was the person who was meant to be shot.

According to NJ.com –

“Both slain council members were elected Republicans. Heller was last elected in 2020, Dwumfour to her first term in 2021.”
