Authorities in Colorado say they have detained three people they believe threw huge landscaping pebbles at seven vehicles last week. Alexa Bartell, a 20-year-old driver, was kἰlled in the seventh and last crash.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office stated on Wednesday that three high school seniors, all aged 18, had been aɼɼested the night before at their parents’ houses in Arvada and were being held on suspicion of first-degree muɼder with extreme indifference.
The authorities have stated that more charges will be forthcoming. Joseph Koenig, Nicholas “Mitch” Karol-Chik, and Zachary Kwak are all sμspected of rock tossing, however, it is unclear which sμspect or sμspects were behind the wheel.
Authorities believe the sμspects flung the pebbles from moving vehicles. On April 19 at 10:45 p.m., someone threw a huge rock through Bartell’s windshield, striking and kἰlling her, according to the sheriff’s office.

According to the sheriff’s office, six other automobiles in the neighborhood had rocks thrown at them in the hour before Bartell was muɼdered. Two of the drivers were slightly hurt in those accidents. One of the four lucky ones was Lyft and Uber driver Nathan Tipton.

He told reporters on Tuesday-

“When I found out that this series of events actually took a young lady’s life, I feel for Alexa and her family. It put me in a bit of a shock. My wife, it really got to her.”

Tipton, a dad of three said-

“Nobody should lose their child for a random act. … It’s heartbreaking.”

The sheriff’s office claimed the aɼɼests were made with the use of phone forensics and public tips. Sheriff’s officials have announced that the accused would likely make their initial court appearance on Thursday.
