What made this drama come alive for me was the characters. To put it simply, Deborah Ayorinde’s performance is the show’s saving grace. Many will recognize Ayorinde from her roles in Luke Cage on Netflix or Apple TV+’s Truth Be Told, but her performance here may be her finest. I can’t wait to read more of her work. Further, I pray that she will reprise her role as Nina in the near future.
