Purple Hearts, one of Netflix’s new young adult films, has several characters who have served in the military. Nicholas Galitzine’s character, Luke, is going to be deployed and Sofia Carson’s character is set to get married, and they have to deal with all the difficulties that come with it.
According to Deadline, Netflix plans to release the movie in 2021. Kyle Jarrow and Liz Garcia adapted the screenplay from Tess Wakefield’s novel of the same name. Garcia has written for Memphis Beat and Cold Case in addition to Valor and Star Trek: Discovery.
Elizabeth Allen Rosenbaum, who previously directed Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists, Dead to Me, and Spinning Out, is the director of Purple Hearts.

The only reason Cassie and Luke get married are because of the perks they will receive as a result of their union as members of the United States military. According to What’s on Netflix in 2021, a lengthy synopsis presented in Production Weekly reveals more about what each character needs from the marriage.
Cassie has recently been diagnosed with diabetes, which has resulted in a significant increase in her daily expenses. She can’t pay off the medical bills she’s accrued as a result of her recent illness as a bartender trying to break into the music industry.
She asked her Army friend Frankie to marry her so that she could get health insurance to cover the price of her diabetes care. They can divide his military pay raise now that he’s married. When he declines her, his friend Luke steps forward to fill his shoes and does the honors.

Several of today’s most pressing issues could be addressed in the film, depending on why Luke is doing what he is doing. Because diabetes medications and supplies are growing more and more expensive, many people are forced to cut back on their insulin intake, increasing their risk of developing various problems linked with diabetes.
She may not be covered by health insurance because she works as a bartender, or the coverage she does have isn’t sufficient to handle the medical costs she has currently.
For several “silly” reasons, such as his parents’ reluctance to allow him to have a romantic partner or his need for the enhanced military stipend to cover a particular expense, Luke may stand to gain financially from the union.
In the summary from Production Weekly, the character is described as “frustratingly intense,” which could indicate that the circumstances would benefit him. If there is a problem in his life, perhaps the marriage can assist alleviate it.

Cassie, played by Sofia Carson, is the show’s star. This character from Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists may be familiar to you. Besides Descendants, she also starred in Descendants 2, and Descendants 3. The romantic drama film features Nicholas Galitzine as Luke. Sofia Carson co-wrote and performed the soundtrack for the film. Netflix released a teaser for the film on June 21st, which featured a song written by Carson specifically for the project. As soon as the film is out, “Come Back Home” will be available for download.
Having a loved one away on active duty can be difficult, and the song seems to express the desire that they will return safely. On-screen, Cassie sings it to Luke at a computer cafe surrounded by other service workers.
