An aspiring influencer and writer, Danni Sanders, goes to great measures to garner attention by pretending to be in Paris, which is the focus of the movie Not Okay, a dark comedy. She is caught out when her new followers mistakenly assume that she is the only survivor of an attack.
What does being real entail in a world of likes, dislikes, and cancels? Danni has to answer these questions. Hulu and Disney+’s official synopsis claims that the film is based on a novel “To increase her social media influence, aimless aspirant novelist Danni Sanders pretends to go to Paris on an Instagram-friendly trip to enhance her fictitious following.
“It’s only after a horrible event takes place in the City of Lights that Danni realizes she’s been deceived. “Returning” to her heroic self, she meets Rowan (Mia Isaac), another real-life trauma survivor who is devoted to social change and falls in love with her long-time crush, Colin (Dylan O’Brien).

Not Okay Movie Cast
Not Okay stars Zoey Deutch and Dylan O’Brien. Danni Sanders, a lonely photo editor, and the aspiring author is played by Deutch in this film. Colin, Danni’s love interest, is played by O’Brien, but things may not be what they appear to be.
Both Deutch and O’Brien are well-known for their roles as Infinity Jackson and Stiles Stilinski, respectively, in Netflix’s The Politician, and for their recent work in Taylor Swift’s short film All Too Well, in which they co-starred with Stranger Things’ Sadie Sink.
Danni gets friends with Rowan, played by rising star Mia Isaac, a trauma victim and social change activist. Judith is played by Embeth Davidtz, best known for her performance in Schindler’s List. Not Okay’s cast also includes:

Kan Soni is a Bollywood star born and raised in the United States. For his performance as Dopinder in the Deadpool flicks and its sequel Deadpool 2, he became a household name. Originally from New Delhi, India, Soni studied business at the University of Southern California before moving to Los Angeles to pursue a career in film and television acting.
Brennan Brown as Harold
His name is Brennan Brown and he’s an American actor. On NBC’s Chicago Med, he now portrays Dr. Samuel Abrams. Man in the High Castle’s Robert Children was one of his many roles on Amazon.
Nadia Alexander as Harper
She is an American actress, Nadia Alexander. Among her television credits are The Sinner and Seven Seconds.
