According to the police, there was a shooting at a house party in Douglas County, Georgia, on Saturday, where there were more than one hundred teenagers present. The shooting resulted in the deaths of two people and the injuries of six others.

According to the officials, the shooting occurred as a result of a confrontation that took place at a house party in Douglasville, which is a city located approximately 20 miles west of Atlanta.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) issued a request in a news release asking for anyone with information about the suspect to contact the agency. The agency stated that information about the incident is “very limited,” prompting the request.

According to a CNN affiliate WXIA, witnesses report seeing injured partygoers in the yards of nearby homes after the shooting.

The home’s owner told WXIA that they had a Sweet 16 party for their daughter and decided to end it at 10 p.m. because some of the guests were smoking marijuana.

The homeowner told WXIA that the shooting took place in a cul-de-sac outside of the house, but it is unknown whether or not there were any adults present at the time of the incident.

A “very active investigation,” according to DCSO, is still being conducted into the incident.
