After a car carrying a 20-year-old lady went up the wrong driveway, the driver allegedly opened fire, kἰllἰng the woman. The man has been charged with second-degree murder in the United States.
On Saturday, Kaylin Gillis was in New York State with two other persons. Police in Hebron said they accidentally entered Kevin Monahan’s driveway. Mr. Monahan, 65, reportedly opened fire on the vehicle as its driver exited, striking Ms. Gillis.
Washington Country Sheriff Jeffrey Murphy told a news conference-

“This is a very sad case of some young adults who were looking for a friend’s house and ended up at this man’s house who decided to come out with a firearm and discharge it.”

Driveways are not well-lit at night because of the rural setting. No one had gotten out of the car or tried to enter Mr. Monahan’s house before he allegedly started sh00ting.
Mr. Murphy said-

“There’s clearly no threat from anyone in the vehicle,” Sheriff Murphy said. “There’s no reason for Mr Monahan to feel threatened.”

The companions left the residence in a car and tried to get help from a nearby town, but paramedics confirmed Ms. Gillis’s death. (According to BBC)

Mr. Monahan was “uncooperative with the investigation and refused to exit his residence to speak with police,” according to a press release from the sheriff’s department. The Gillis family has set up a GoFundMe to help them “with funeral and other expenses“.

Separately, a Missouri homeowner is facing charges after allegedly sh00ting a boy who accidentally rang the wrong doorbell while picking up his younger brothers.
