American journalist and newscaster Micah Materre works for WGN-TV right now. She serves as a commentator, master of ceremonies, and honorary chairman for a number of civic and communal groups in the Chicago area.

Micah Mattere Back Surgery

Micah Materre, a journalist and anchor who has won an Emmy, is well-known in the broadcasting industry. She is well recognized for serving as the WGN television station in Chicago principal anchor.

She was up in the Windy City and has worked in the journalism industry for over 30 years. She began her career in media in 1983 at NPR station WBEZ radio, where she worked for four years as a producer and reporter. Columbia College has hired her to teach radio production there as well.

Her media career has taken her from Chicago to Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Detroit, where she worked for eight years as the co-anchor of WJBK TV before being selected as the host of the highly-rated WGN newscast.
