According to the Memphis Police Department, authorities are appealing to the general public for assistance in identifying those responsible for a pair of shootings that they believe are connected and which resulted in the deaths of one person and injuries to ten others.
At approximately 12:43 a.m. on Sunday, officers arrived at the Live Club in Memphis, where two shooting victims were found. The victims were transported to a hospital in critical condition, according to the police. According to the police, five more people who had been shot were transported to local hospitals in non-life-threatening conditions by a private vehicle.
Officers were at the scene of the incident at the Live Club when they learned that there were additional shooting victims in the area. In that location, law enforcement discovered a man victim who had already passed away in addition to three additional victims who were sent to a hospital in serious condition.
The police said on Twitter Sunday afternoon that five of the ten people who were hurt had been released from the hospital. “The five victims who were in non-critical condition have all been released from the hospital,” the statement said. “The five additional victims remain in critical condition.” Police say they think there is a link between the two scenes, but no one has been arrested yet.
“There is no “solid description of the suspect(s)” Memphis police tweeted. It is not apparent what led up to the shootings, nor is it clear whether the person or people who carried out the shootings knew the people who were shot.
