One person was killed and four people were injured in a shooting that took place along a Mardi Gras parade route in New Orleans late on Sunday night, according to the police.
A representative for the New Orleans Police Department informed FOX News Digital that the incident on the Bacchus parade route took place at approximately 9:30 p.m. local time at the junction of St. Charles Avenue and Terpsichore Street. Three of the five casualties were male, while a female and a young girl were also among the deceased.
Each of the victims was taken to a hospital in order to receive necessary medical care. The girl and all of the other victims, with the exception of one, are currently in stable condition. One of the men who was the lone survivor of the attack has been proclaimed dead.
A suspect who was wanted in connection with the incident was brought into custody, according to the police, not long after shots were fired. Moreover, two firearms were taken into custody. When bullets were fired at the scene, there were police officers in the immediate area.

Many law enforcement agencies, including the New Orleans Police Department, the Orleans Parish Sheriff’s Department, the Louisiana State Police, and the Department of Prisons, were involved in the incident response to the shooting, which is currently being investigated.
