This week, the top prizes for the Mega Millions and Powerball, the country’s two biggest lottery games, are approaching or exceeding $500 million.
The expected $650 million jackpot for the Monday Powerball drawing currently has a cash-out value of $328.3 million. The anticipated jackpot for the upcoming Mega Millions drawing, which takes place on Tuesday, is $480 million, with a cash-out value of $240.7 million.
According to the Powerball website, there were no jackpot winners after Saturday’s drawing for the enormous $615 million reward, which ranks as the 10th highest Powerball payout ever.
If the Powerball is won on Monday, it will rank as the 14th-largest lottery jackpot ever awarded in American history. It would also be the third-highest prize given this year, after the $1.35 billion Mega Millions jackpot granted on January 13 and the $754.6 million Powerball jackpot awarded on February 6.

At 9:59 p.m. Central time, Powerball drawings are held every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday. The Mega Millions lottery is drawn at 10 p.m. Central on Tuesdays and Fridays. In the Powerball drawing, a Powerball and five numbers are selected from a set of numbers ranging from 1 to 69.
A winning player must match the Powerball and all five numbers to be eligible for the jackpot. There are further rewards available. A Megaball is also added after five balls with numbers ranging from 1 to 70 are selected at random.
The jackpot is won by a player who correctly matches the Megaball, all five numbers, and both. There are more prizes in the game, and tickets have a “Megaplier” option that might raise the value of those prizes.
