Kekkai Sense or Blood Blockade Battlefront is a Japanese sci-fi, action anime series based on one of the most popular manga series of the same name. The story follows a young man named Leonardo Watch, a photographer by profession. However, he sacrificed his sister’s eyesight for the “All-Seeing Eyes of the Gods’ by which he can see the evil entities around him. His adventures begin when he becomes a member of a group named Libra. The group fights the evil supernatural beings. Written by Yasuhiro Nightow, the manga began serialization in Jump Square magazine on January 5, 2009. The manga ran for ten volumes and finally concluded on February 19, 2015. Later, Bones studio adapted it as an anime series, which debuted on April 4, 2015. It ran for 12 episodes and ended on October 4, 2015. The second part of the manga titled Blood Blockade Battlefront: Back 2 Back arrived on July 17, 2015. Eight volumes have been published so far, and it is still going on. Bones adopted part 2 of the manga and created Kekkai Sense season 2, which premiered on October 7, 2017. Season 2 also ran for 12 episodes plus one OVA episode and ultimately concluded on December 23, 2017. The anime secured a special place among anime lovers. The fans have shown their love by excellently rating the series. It scored 7.4 out of 10 on IMDB and 7.63 out of 10 on my Anime-planet. Will the Kekkai Sense return for Season 3.
Season 2 concluded on December 23, 2017, and more than three years have passed, and still no words. There is no official announcement regarding the renewal of the series for the third installment. It is a matter of concern for the fans. But do not worry, guys. The gap of 3 years is not the assurance of cancellation of the series. Sometimes, the studios take 4 to 5 years to renew the series. Let see the factors which can indicate the possibility of season 3.
- Revenue generation- Both manga and anime generated quite good revenue for the production company. Season 2 also performs incredibly well. So, there is no reason for Bonus studio to discontinue the series.
- Source material – The Kekkai Sensen manga series consists of 10 volumes. We are aware that the anime is based on the manga series. And the bonus studio used 6 out of 10 volumes to create season one. The studio used the rest of the four volumes and 2 volumes out of 8 from part 2 of the manga to produce season 2. So six volumes are still left to create season 3. Therefore, we can say that the studio has sufficient source material to make the third installment.
So there are high chances that the studio renews the series sooner or later.

The Release date of Kekkai Sensen Season 3. When will it air?
If the series gets the green flag by the end of this year, the production team will take almost 2 years to produce the series. So, I expect that season 3 will arrive somewhere in 2023. If everything goes well, it can premiere early as well.

In the upcoming season, we will see the power-packed fight of chain, Zaap, Leo, and other members of Libra.

The showrunners have not given a thumbs up yet. Therefore, the prediction of the release date of the trailer is implausible so far.
