FBI Publishes New Photographs of Illegal Immigrant Suspected of Kἰllἰng 5 Texas Neighbors

The FBI in Houston has released updated images of a suspect wanted in connection with the execution-style mμrders of five persons on Friday night.

Francisco Oropesa, 38, was still being sought Sunday afternoon, more than 24 hours after he allegedly shot five of his neighbors in their home in Cleveland, Texas, including a youngster of 8 years old.

An ICE source confirmed to Fox News Digital that Oropesa is in the country ἰllegally and has been deported in the past. According to the source, he has ἰllegally reentered the country “multiple” times, with his most recent interaction with ICE being in 2016.

Oropesa showed off his new tattoo of a woman in a headdress on one of his arms in three of the four photographs, while the other showed his face.

FBI Since Saturday, Houston has been using the spelling “Oropesa” rather than “Oropeza” “to better reflect his identity in law enforcement systems,” they said. This is still a developing case.

At a press conference on Sunday afternoon, Governor Greg Abbott’s office, state agencies, and the FBI announced an $80,000 reward for information leading to an arrest, which was presented by San Jacinto County Sheriff Greg Capers and FBI Houston Special Agent in Charge James Smith.
He added-

“We do not know where he is that’s why we’ve come up with this reward ,Smith told reporters, adding there’s he’s sure Oropesa has contacted friends, they just need to find out who. “We have zero leads.”

Reporters quoted Capers as saying, “My main intent and focus is 100% on capturing this suspect.” More than 200 law enforcement officers, he claimed, are actively looking for Oropesa.

In an earlier tweet Sunday, the FBI said,

“The multi-agency search for suspect Francisco Oropeza continues this morning. Reminder, if you see him DO NOT approach him. He is armed and dangerous. If you have a tip about his whereabouts call the San Jacinto County Sheriff’s Office at 936-653-4367.”

Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas told Chuck Todd on Sunday’s “Meet the Press” that he wouldn’t “comment” on the immigration status of Mexican citizen Enrique Oropesa when Todd raised a query regarding Oropesa possessing a “consulate card, meaning he was here legally, but perhaps he had overstayed?”

Mayorkas replied,

“I won’t comment on it because it is an active case. The tragedy that occurred is … just absolutely horrific.”

Capers said late Saturday night, “He could be anywhere now,” adding that the search area had been expanded from 5 or 6 square miles to “as much as 10 or 20 depending on whether or not he crossed the Highline wire.”

Texas Department of Criminal Justice tracking dogs “picked up a scent and then… lost that scent in the water,” the sheriff said, adding that authorities recovered an abandoned cell phone and clothing items lying nearby.

Daniel Enrique Laso Guzman, 8, Sonia Argentina Guzman, 25, Diana Velazquez Alvarado, 21, Julisa Molina Rivera, 31, and Jose Jonathan Casarez, 18, have all been named as casualties.

Oropesa allegedly opened fire on the victims just before midnight after one of them urged him to cease shooting outside his house. As Capers put it, “from the neck up,” everyone within the house was mμrdered.

Capers said there were ten individuals in the home, including three children who were unharmed. Some of the adults in the home had moved in just this week. Two of the bodies, he added, were discovered in a bedroom, with the adults laying on top of two youngsters in an apparent attempt to protect them.

A man with the same name and age as the one in the criminal history check was charged with DUI in 2009. Capers claimed that the sheriff’s office had been called to Oropesa’s house before because he was “shooting his gun in the yard,” which is not necessarily unlawful if the shooting takes place on private land.
