Jeremy Renner and his family are talking about the awful accident he was in. In his first interview since he was hit by a snowplow and taken to the hospital nearly three months ago, Renner talks about what happened.
In a March 29 preview of his upcoming interview with Diane Sawyer, the actor talks about the physical pain he felt during the New Year’s Day accident and says that he was “awake for every moment.” As for Renner’s nephew, he remembered how scary the whole thing was.
The actor’s adult nephew, Alexander shared –
“I just perfectly see him in a pool of blood coming from his head.”
“I ran up to him, I didn’t think he was alive.”
But Renner made it clear that he would “do it again in a heartbeat” no matter what happened. He added, “Because it was going right at my nephew.”
A January report from the Nevada Sheriff’s office confirmed that the actor from “The Hurt Locker” was pulled under the machine when he tried to stop the snowplow from sliding and hitting his nephew.
Why did the snow plow hit Jeremy Renner? The PistenBully is a vehicle made in Germany with treads for clearing and grooming snow:
Renner was hurt very badly in the accident. As Sawyer said, he had dozens of broken bones and eight ribs that were broken in fourteen places. His lung also collapsed. Renner said on January 17 that he was home from the hospital after about two weeks in intensive care.
As the 52-year-old told Sawyer –
“I chose to survive, you’re not gonna k!ll me, no way.”
As for how the Marvel star felt about doing stunts after his accident, Renner only showed how much of a real-life superhero he really is. He said –
“I’ve lost a lot of flesh and bone in this experience.”
“But I’ve been refueled and refilled with love and titanium.”
On April 6, ABC will show the whole interview with Renner.
