This year, excited trick-or-treaters may notice that a beloved American tradition is missing from their pumpkin pails. According to Hershey, it won’t be able to satisfy Halloween customer demand. On a Thursday conference call with investors, Michele Buck, CEO of the Pennsylvania-based manufacturer of chocolate and sweets, stated that the business was experiencing “capacity difficulties.”
Given that many of our year-round and seasonal items are produced on the same line, Buck explained on Thursday’s call that production had to be balanced over the previous few months in order to increase year-round on-shelf availability while also building seasonal inventories.
