A Connecticut man has been charged with k!lling a neighbor without any reason. His bail has been set at $2 million. Police say it was the first murder in the wealthy town of Wilton in Fairfield County in more than ten years.
Two people from New York bought the house at 34 Partrick last summer. Their plans to make a life there were ruined by violence that k!lled people. Wilton Police Deputy Chief Robert Cipolla said (as reported by CBS News) –
“Through our investigation, there is no provocation from the victim that we’ve unveiled that would have led to such a violent attack.”
The suspect lives with his parents on Indian Hill Road, just behind where the victim lives. Authorities allege that on Tuesday morning, 31-year-old Sebastian Andrews savagely stabbed 39-year-old Ari Ukachukwu with a knife and that the suspect’s father witnessed the crime from his window, dialed 911, and rushed to the scene as his son dragged the lifeless body to the garage, leaving a blood trail 15 feet in length.
State’s attorney Paul Ferencek said –
“It’s an unprovoked assault on a next-door neighbor. There seems to be some kind of psychological issue involved in the case.”
Andrews told police that the victim had “eyes that looked insane” before the attack, and that he had acted in self-defense. Cipolla said –
“He indicated that he had some kind of perception that the neighbor, the victim, was trespassing on his property. Through our investigation, there’s no indication that has substantiated that belief.”
Police say that after the attack, Andrews went home and took a shower. A judge put him in jail with a $2 million bail. The prosecutor said that the suspect had gone to college and had had a few different jobs.
The victim’s wife and child live next door, so even if he makes bail, he won’t be able to live with his parents. In this case, Ukachukwu was alone when he was hurt.
His wife and child were not there when people were k!lling each other. Police say that Wilton hasn’t had a murder since 2012.
