A new store listing appears to have disclosed the date for Fast X’s digital release, and it’s surprisingly not far off. Fast X, directed by Louis Leterrier, is the tenth entry in the main Fast & Furious series.

In the most recent prequel, Vin Diesel’s character Dominic Toretto and his extended family of friends and blood relatives battle Dante, played by Jason Momoa, who poses a new threat.

Although Universal has not yet confirmed this date, a new Microsoft store listing indicates that Fast X’s digital release date will be June 9.

The Direct posted a tweet with the following information regarding the Fast X Digital Release Date:

This would be unexpectedly fast, given that the movie only recently opened in theaters on May 19—the preorder cost for thpreorderthe regular is $24.99.

How Fast X Has Performed In Theaters?

The Fast X reviews have distinctly conflicted, with critics expressing dissatisfaction with the plot while universally praising Momoa’s new antagonist. Particularly in comparison to earlier Fast & Furious films, the movie’s box office performance has been somewhat unpredictable thus far.

Fast X Digital Release Date

Fast X’s domestic box office take has been disappointing despite the movie doing well abroad, and it will continue to decline into the second weekend and beyond. Fast X has made more than $523.5 million worldwide, of which $117.8 million came from domestic sales and $405.7 million from outside F9.

If Fast X successfully gains traction abroad, it could surpass the $726.2M total that The Fast Saga achieved at the end of its theatrical run.

However, even if it ends up near F9’s total, that would still be a disappointing outcome given the movie’s enormous production costs, estimated to be around $340 million due to COVID-19-related variables and the franchise’s continuously expanding ensemble.

Fast X’s box office may suffer further due to consumers choosing to watch the movie at home since the digital release date is so soon after the movie’s theatrical debut.

Even if the film’s critical and financial success indicates that, at least domestically, interest in the Fast & Furious franchise is dwindling, there may still be three more installments in the series.

Diesel has hinted that the Fast X series will have two installments before it concludes while returning franchise member Dwayne Johnson has said that a Hobbs standalone film is also in the works.
