The only animated series set in the Star Wars world is Star Wars: The Bad Batch. The Bad Batch was created by Dave Filoni as both a spin-off and a sequel to the series Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Season one of The Bad Batch is present on Disney plus streaming platform and premiered on 4th May 2021. This season ran for 16 episodes, forty minutes each.

Now, this franchise is ready for the release of the second installment.

When this show first aired, everyone predicted that it would fail miserably. However, it had eventually carved out a place in the Star Wars world, which might have significant ramifications for The Mandalorian.

The show Bad Batch focuses on expanding the mythology of the Star War universe forward. They tend to progress the mythology as Hunter, Tech, Wrecker, Echo, Crosshair, and their young sidekick Omega struggle to find their place in a cosmos where the newly created Empire is beginning to wield power.

In this season of Bad Batch, we will see our beloved team Clone Force 99, continuing with their adventures. They are a motley crew of one-of-a-kind troops who have been genetically modified to possess qualities that make them superior combatants.

In this season of Bad Batch, we can also expect some crossovers with another show of the Star Wars Universe, The Mandolorian.

So, with the show’s return set for 2022, we’ve dispatched our spies on a reconnaissance mission to tell you everything you need to know about The Bad Batch season 2 release date, story, cast, and more. Season 1 spoilers, as well as information about the forthcoming season, are offered below.

Bad Batch Season 2

The Bad Batch Release Date

According to a Reddit user who goes by the username BZPJMJ64, fans were correct to be skeptical that the animated series’ spring premiere date would be kept. The Bad Batch season 2 will be released shortly rather than in the spring of 2022, according to issue 209 of Star Wars Insider. When can we expect it? If it does not make it to spring, it will most likely be summer.

There are other series like Obi-Wan Kenobi, which is also about to premiere on Disney Plus; it’ll be interesting to see how the release of The Bad Batch goes around happen. While Andor is also expected to arrive in 2022, Disney+ will not schedule Obi-Wan Kenobi and the Cassian Andor series too close. But our focus is on The Bad Batch season two. It is most likely to release in the winter of this year.

This season is reportedly expected to be released in late autumn 2022.

The Bad Batch Season 2 Plot

Before the finale episode of season one of The Bad Batch, the showrunners on 5th August announced that they would bring a new installment to the franchise. Now the fans are wondering what will happen to the Clone Force 99 in this upcoming season?

The Clone Force was phased out by the end of season one. So due to this, we expect that in season two of The Bad Batch, the galaxy will alter itself.

Lucasfilm does not provide crucial plot hints ahead of the release of a Star Wars film or TV show. However, it would be a big surprise if The Bad Batch season 2 did not carry off where its predecessor left off.

In season one, we saw the devastating destruction of the Imperial fleet of Tipoca City and the cloning facilities on Kamino. While Hunter, Tech, Wrecker, Echo, and Omega parted ways with Crosshair, a member of the ex-Clone Force 99.

Another thing that season one told us was the role of Clone Force 99 in establishing the Rebellion against the empire. In this upcoming season, we can see Clones spreading over the galaxy, and the fans can also expect a backstory about Omega being told.

All in all, there is a lot that showrunners can explore in season two of The Bad Batch. It will be interesting to see what season two of The Bad Batch will bring on our screens.

The Bad Batch Season 2 Cast

Though there isn’t much information about season two of The Bad Batch yet, we can hypothesize about the cast:

  • Dee Bradley Baker, the main lead in The Bad Batch: Hunter, Wrecker, Tech, Crosshair, and Echo, are a member of  Clone Force 99, an elite unit of clone warriors. George Lucas, the designer of Star Wars, intended the Bad Batch to be distinct from other clones, each possessing distinctive talents, but he did not want them to be superheroes. Baker also provides voices for the other clones in the series, including Cut Lawquane and Captains Rex, Howzer, and Gregor.
  • Michelle Ang will be performing as Omega: A young female clone who works as a medical assistant on Kamino. She is an unaltered duplicate of Jango Fett. Despite the fact that she is genetically different from normal clone templates and so has a connection to the Bad Batch.

Apart from these two, we expect that the following will be seen in season two of The Bad Batch:

  • Rhea Perlman for the role of Cid
  • Noshir Dalal for the role of Vice Admiral Rampart
  • Gwendoline Yeo playing the role of Nala Se
  • Stephen Stanton for the role of Admiral Tarkin
  • Ben Diskin playing the role of AZI-3
