In West Hollywood, California, the remains of Dirk Shafer, a former centerfold for Playgirl magazine, whose articles chronicled his escapades as a covert spy in the 1995 parody movie “Man of the Year,” was found. He was 52. Shafer was found deἀd in his car near his home in West Hollywood, California on March 5, 2015.

According to Craig Harvey, a spokesman for the Los Angeles County medical examiner’s Office, Mr. Shafer was discovered in the front passenger seat of his car on a residential street.

After an autopsy, He found that Shafer ded from “methamphetamine and cocane toxicity,” with hypertensive cardiovascular dsease probably playing a role. The Hollywood Forever Cemetery is where Shafer is buried.

After posing naked in several of Playgirl’s pictorials, Mr. Shafer was named “Man of the Year” in 1992. He also wrote, produced, and starred in well-received films at gy film festivals.

On November 7, 1962, Dirk Allan Shafer was born in Carbondale, Illinois. However, there was no immediate word on his condition. Mr. Shafer said in a 2002 interview with the homos*xual magazine The Advocate that he wanted his audience to know that humor and a passion for one’s work come before physical appeal.
