Assassin’s Creed Origins is the tenth main Assassin’s Creed game from Ubisoft, released on October 5, 2015. A global launch took place on Saturday, October 27th, 2017.
Assassin’s Creed Origins Development
Before the release of Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate in 2015, the game has already begun development. A large number of the Origins team’s members previously worked on Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag at Ubisoft Montreal, the game’s lead development studio.
Additionally, the game’s development is being supported by Ubisoft Sofia, Ubisoft Singapore, Ubisoft Chengdu, Ubisoft Bucharest, Ubisoft Kyiv, and the Sperasoft studio. History books were not always sufficient as a reference because the setting was so far back in time compared to previous entries in the franchise.
Maxime Durand worked closely with several historians and Egyptian experts to fill in the gaps in her knowledge of Egyptian history. In some cases, the Art team had to imagine what Ancient Egypt would have looked like and felt like if there were no precedents.
Synopsis
Setting
Medjay Bayek and his wife Aya play the role of defenders of the Ptolemaic Kingdom during a period of upheaval: the Pharaoh Ptolemy XIII is struggling to maintain his rule while harboring ambitions of expanding his kingdom; Cleopatra, the recently deposed Pharaoh’s sister.
Begins mobilizing loyalist forces to launch a counter-coup against Ptolemy; and frequent incursions by the Rift To become the first Assassin, Bayek and Aya first come into contact with the secretive powers behind these events as Medjays.
Plot
With her friend and coworker Deanna Geary, a researcher at Abstergo Entertainment’s Historical Research Division, Layla Hassan is searching for and rescuing an artifact in Egypt today. The mummies of the ancient Assassins Bayek and Aya, on the other hand, are what she discovers in the tomb.

Despite Deanna’s protests, Layla decides to use her modified Animus to relive Bayek and Aya’s genetic memories in the hopes of uncovering any relevant information that could help her land a job in the company’s Animus Project. Masked men abduct Bayek and his son Khemu from the Siwa Oasis in 49 BCE. They are taken to a vault beneath the Temple of Amun by the respected Medjay Bayek. To open a secret vault, the masked men hand Bayek a golden orb.
Bayek accidentally stabs Khemu in the chest as he tries to kill one of the masked men, killing him. Bayek had fled Siwa a year earlier to find the five masked men and exact vengeance on them. Rudjek, known as “The Heron,” is the first to be found and killed by him. When Medunamun, “The Ibis” returns to Siwa, Bayek kills him to gain access to the same vault. In Alexandria, Aya has been following another of the masked men, so Bayek heads there after killing Medunamun.
Assassin’s Creed Origins Gameplay
Location and Navigation
To put it another way, the map of Origins is comparable to the size of the Caribbean in Black Flag on the ground and can be explored without requiring a loading screen. Giza, Memphis, Cyrene, and Alexandria, as well as smaller villages and settlements in Faiyum and the Nile Delta, can be visited by players.
Origins do away with the traditional Assassin’s Creed mini-map in favor of a compass bar reminiscent of those found in Elder Scrolls games. Using Senu’s eagle vision, Bayek can spot and mark enemies with the help of the game’s “Eagle Vision”. Treasure chests, crafting supplies, and secret passageways can all be found thanks to her unique aerial perspective. In addition, Senu can be upgraded to attack or distract opponents.
Elements of RPGs
In the same way that Syndicate does, the progression system in Origins rewards players with experience for completing specific tasks. Ability points can be used to unlock skills from the game’s skill tree when Bayek levels up, as well as make him stronger. In this tree, there are three primary branches:
- Melee combat is the primary focus of Master Warrior.
- Ranged combat and stealth are the focus of Master Hunter.
- Using tools and manipulating the environment are the primary concerns of the Master Seer.
Combat
In Origins, the combat system has been completely reworked, now using a hitbox system. As a result, positioning, as well as the weapon’s size and speed, determine whether or not an attack is successful.
Using a mace instead of a light sword may deal more damage per hit, but it also leaves the player more vulnerable to counterattacks than if they were using a lighter weapon. Bayek’s shield can be used to block enemy attacks or to bash opponents to open a path for their attacks.
Other
Fan-requested additions include the ability to toggle Bayek’s hood on and off from the menu screen and the return of multiple save files, which were previously removed from Assassin’s Creed: Unity and Syndicate. Even though Bayek is awake, some of the guards will be asleep at night, making it easier for him to get through without drawing too much attention.
