There has been a new game announced by Ravensburger based on a classic film. In the Wizard of Oz Adventure Book Game, players assume the roles of Dorothy and her pals as they attempt to perform a series of tasks inspired by the film’s plot.
Several boards and situations are included in the game’s “Adventure Book,” and each chapter has its own set of goals and winning conditions. “Sing” challenges based on the movie’s songs are also included in The Wizard of Oz Adventure Book Game.
Additional miniatures of Dorothy, Scarecrow, and Tin Man are included as well as Glinda’s Good Witch and Wicked Witch of West Glinda the Good Witch.

Once players have moved their characters to their desired locations on the board, they will enter the Storytelling Phase, where they will have to complete challenges and trade or discard calls. Before the turn is passed to the next player, they will draw from different decks. This is a true co-op experience because the players control both Dorothy and the other characters at the same time.
Ravensburger has now released a second Adventure Book game, after last year’s release of The Princess Bride Adventure Book Game. The Wizard of Oz Adventure Book Game features six chapters, just like The Princess Bride Adventure Book Game.
There have been a number of board games based on The Wizard of Oz book, most likely due to the book’s public domain status, however, the film has only seen a small number of board game adaptations. Players strive to land on a Home space while holding a Magic Card in the most notable 1974 board game version.
