Aho-Girl (Idiot Girl in English) is a Japanese comedy, slice-of-life anime based on a manga series of the same name. Written by Hiroyuki, the manga began serialization on November 28, 2012, in Weekly Shōnen Magazine. Later the anime shifted to Bessatsu Shonen Magazine in 2015. The manga ran for a total of 12 volumes and finally concluded on December 15, 2017.
The story revolves around a high school girl named Yoshiko Hanabatake. As the title indicates, she is stupid in her academics and socially as well. She continually hangs out with her childhood friend named Akuru Akutsu. Yoshiko’s mother wants her to marry Akura. Later, Yoshiko also fell in love with Akura and began to follow her.
Diomedéa adapted the manga as the anime to promote the manga series. The anime ran for 12 episodes between July and September 2017.
Directed by Keizō Kusakawa and Shingo Tamaki, the anime received mixed reviews from the viewers. Due to the lack of singularity, it got an average IMDB rating of 6.6 out of 10.
