Just a few weeks remain until the release of Destiny 2: Lightfall, and Bungie has now revealed what players could anticipate from the expansion’s expanding Exotic arsenal.
Three pieces of armor, three weapons, and a new catalyst were shown in a new trailer for the Deluxe Edition-only game Quicksilver Storm.
When Lightfall launches on February 28, it will transport players to the neon-lit metropolis of Neomuna on Neptune, where they will have to repel an attack by newly minted Witness disciple Callus and his Shadow Legion army.
A new set of Exotics and a new subclass ability called Strand will provide the Guardians an advantage in the cyberpunk-themed clash.

These are the ones we are currently aware of:
- The “charged tracking rounds” in the Final Warning (Strand sidearm) weapon automatically target adversaries nearby.
- Deterministic Chaos (Void machine gun): employs “rhythmic debuffs” to weaken foes after the fourth shot and give incendiary rounds after the sixteenth.
- Stasis glaive’s “freezes adversaries with frost spheres,” which appear to be able to produce both turrets and bombs, is known as “winter bite.”
- The catalyst in Quicksilver Storm (kinetic auto rifle) causes grenades to produce Strand “tangles on kills” and adds Strand elemental affinity to standard shots.
- Strand “barricade spawns additional lashes” that bind foes in Abeyant Leap (Titan legs).
- Swarmers (Warlock legs) attack enemies like tiny magic spiders by “destroying knots produce threading.”
- The defensive bonus “grapple gives woven armor” provided by Cyrtararchne’s Façade (Hunter helmet) makes the wearer less likely to flinch.

That sounds a little strange because every Exotic weapon, except the Void machine gun and the Stasis glaive, is built around the Strand, a new subclass that is moving to Lightfall.
Suppose you watched any of the earlier trailers. In that case, you may have noticed that this glowing green power enables Guardians to maneuver through novel locations, much like Master Chief did in Halo Infinite’s most recent appearance.
It resembles space spiderwebs and offers a wealth of intriguing combat opportunities. There are seven exotics in all if you count Quicksilver Storm, which is already available to anyone who preordered the $100 Deluxe Edition of Lightfall.
This is far fewer than the 14 exotics in last year’s The Witch Queen. However, that extension didn’t introduce a brand-new subclass.
Hopefully, Bungie has a few more up its sleeve, either waiting to be unveiled separately as part of the upcoming Season 20 presentation or hidden away in obscure questlines further down the road.
