Men and Kilts: A Road Trip with Sam and Graham is a Scottish documentary miniseries that follows Sam Heughan and Graham McTavish as they travel across Scotland to learn about their roots. The first episode of this documentary aired on Starz on February 14, 2021.

Kevin Johnston was in charge of making this show, and Sam Heughan, Graham McTavish, Alexander Norouzi, Dane Lillegard, Kevin Johnston, and Andrew Fried were all involved in making it. This series was made by Sony Pictures Television, Boardwalk Pictures, and the Great Glen Company. From February 14 to April 11, 2021, the first season of this show aired.

In Episode 1, “Food and Drink,” McTavish and Heughan go to Edinburgh and Pittenween to learn more about Scottish seafood and to the Isle of Islay to get a crash course in whisky. At the Laphroaig distillery on Islay, Heughan and McTavish learn how to make whisky, but they choose to drive into the malted barley supply instead of shoveling peat. In the second episode, they both compete in different Scottish sports like rugby, golf, etc., and the loser has to take a dip in the North Atlantic.

Heughan was able to lift the 100 kg Puderac stone, but McTavish wasn’t able to. After that, they both went surfing on the coast of Scotland. Sam will keep his word on a bet. It’s the only bet that fans wanted him to lose, but he didn’t. When Sam and McTavish go to the Highland Games to learn how to throw a hammer, they both dress the part.

In the beginning of Episode 3, “Song and Dance,” our hosts go to Doune Castle, which is twice as big as Castle Leoch on Outlanders and Winterfell on Game of Thrones. When they go to Borthwick Castle, they also learn more about the music and dance of Scotland. Our hosts Heughan and McTavish meet Iain MacGillivary at Doune Castle. MacGillivary is the youngest clan leader Scotland has ever had.

They find out more about sword dancing, which was made to help soldiers get in better shape for battle. In this funny class with Highland dancer Cerys Jones, they compete against boys who are 4, 5, and 6 years old.In the fourth episode, “Witchcraft and Superstition,” they went to the creepy places in Scotland: Greyfriars Kirkyard and Wormiston house. Before going to the Outer Hebrides to see a stone circle, they went to the Beltane festival.

Greyfriars is a popular place for tourists to visit in Edinburgh, Scotland, because it has a history of being haunted.In the fifth episode, “Culture and Tradition,” Heughan and McTavish get their clothes from Stewart Christie, who is the oldest tailor in Scotland. A 300-year-old tailor made the model’s three-piece tweed suit.

Heughan and McTavish don’t know how to talk in Gaelic, but they had to learn this for Outlander. Fun fact: There are more sheep than people in Scotland. According to a report, there are 5.46 million people in Scotland as of 2019, while the June 2020 agricultural census counted 6.73 million sheep.

Episode 6, “Scotland by Air, Land, and Sea,” starts with a tour of Scotland. While Heughan and McTavish are touring the Scottish Highlands, they go back to Skye to see more of the beautiful places there. The two finish their journey by rappelling down Kilts Rock.

In the seventh episode, Heughan and McTavish go to the highlands to learn about feuds between Scottish clans that have been going on for hundreds of years. They also go to a mill that makes tartan fabrics and a couple of castles that they love.

In the last episode, the actors join a historian and some experts on Outlander combat before paying their respects at Culloden moor. This is the end of their journey through Men in Kilts. In April 1746, the battle took place for 60 minutes and changed Scotland forever.

Man In Kilts Season 2 Release Date

According to the official report from Heyghan and McTavish, the stars are moving the show from Scotland to New Zealand as they continue their journey of exploration. When asked if there would be a second season of Men and Kilts, McTavish hinted that the show might move away from Scotland. But there is no official word on when it will come out. The date has not been announced, and filming for the season has not started yet, but it will soon. So, the good news for fans is that there will be a second season. This is confirmed, but it won’t happen any time soon.
