The Witcher won’t return until the following year, but Netflix has already picked it up for the fourth season and revealed a significant alteration. The streaming behemoth said on Saturday that Liam Hemsworth, best known for his role as Gale Hawthorne in the Hunger Games movie trilogy, would take over for Henry Cavill as the main character Geralt of Rivia.
On social media, the two stars announced the casting change. In his Instagram post, Cavill added, “My trip as Geralt of Rivia has been filled with monsters and adventures; alas, I will be laying down my medallion and my swords.”
“The”superb Mr Liam Hemsworth will assume the role of the White Wolf in my place. I hand the mantle to Liam with admiration for the time spent inhabiting Geralt and excitement to see how he portrays this most intriguing and nuanced of individuals, as with the best literary characters.
Cavill remained silent over his leaving. Following his previous cameo in Black Adam, the actor stated earlier this week stated he would keep playing Superman. In 2018, Cavill was cast by Netflix as Geralt of Rivia.
The actor contributed more than just star power to the show; he also had a true passion for the franchise, which came through in every interview he gave. He admitted to Polygon in 2019 that “I g”nuinely have a connection to Geralt and who he is and his nature, especially from the novels.” An” because I had spent countless hours playing the game, I felt a connection to it.
