Shazam 2 Release Date: Shazam! Fury of the Gods is giving us more of the Shazam Family later this year and we’ve finally seen the first teaser. The actual title for the DC sequel was unveiled at DC FanDome way back in August 2020, but we’ve had to wait patiently for any further details. That arrived at Comic-Con on July 23 when the trailer was released, along with early story information.

Shazam 2 Release Date brings back the creative team that made the original movie such a wonderful pleasure, so that’s director David F Sandberg, screenwriter Henry Gayden and producer Peter Safran and we hope that they can perform the same trick again.

Shazam 2 Storyline

Right now, we don’t know too much about what the narrative of the sequel will be, other than the fact that Shazam will certainly have to deal with some furious gods. From the first teaser, it appears as though Shazam is suffering from a bit of a superpower crisis and battling to keep the Shazam Family operating as a team.

We’re sure the danger of Atlas’s daughters will change that though. It looks as though it was the Shazam Family acquiring their abilities at the end of the first movie that has put them in the crosshairs of Hespera and Kalypso, considering that their talents were taken from the gods.

With Mark Strong ruling out a comeback as Dr. Thaddeus Sivana, it might indicate that we can rule out any continuation of the first movie’s credit scene. At that moment, we met up with the villain in his cage after he was apprehended by the Shazam Family. Sivana met Mister Mind, a highly-intelligent caterpillar-like monster who is a key antagonist in the comics.

Mister Mind is such a danger that he even has his own Monster Society of Evil, with Sivana a frequent member. “Oh what fun we’re going to have together. We’re going to take possession of the seven kingdoms, “He reveals this to Sivana, which we took to be a narrative point for the film’s sequel.

It is a nod to the Seven Magiclands, which are linked to the Rock of Eternity in the comics, by mentioning “seven worlds”. As DC’s Shazam Family has been formed, may the sequel see them explore these realms?

Star Zachary Levi appears to be eager for Shazam to join the ranks of DC’s other superheroes. A team-up film is doubtful shortly, but there may be additional appearances in the sequel.
