The newest game in TT Games’ Lego Star Wars franchise, Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, has been given a release date: April 5, 2022.
Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga will be the first Lego Star Wars game released since 2016’s The Force Awakens, and it appears to become the most aspirational inclusion to the series so far, encompassing all nine of the core Star Wars films while providing players with access to lots of unlockable characters from every era of the saga.
Users will be able to visit several iconic locations as they go through all the movies “in whatever sequence they desire” to “create their adventure around the universe.”

When Can You Play It?
The creation of Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga has been arduous. After failing an October 2020 launch window, the game attempted and failed to meet a ‘Spring 2021’ launch date as well. Following a statement at Gamescom 2021, we learned that Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga will be launched in ‘Spring 2022.’ We finally obtained an official release date of April 5, 2022, on January 20.
What Can I Play It on?
Fortunately for Star Wars lovers, Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga will be accessible on nearly every platform, including Nintendo Switch, PC, Mac, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, PS4, and PC.
Trailer for the Game’s Gameplay
The game’s official release date of April 5, 2022, was announced alongside a gameplay preview trailer for Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker. The six-minute clip showcases the game in excellent detail and provides fans with a good indication of what to expect. You may play as many characters in any story, enjoy brand-new gameplay features, and have all of the excitement that Lego games are known for.
Trailer for an Announcement
We had, of course, seen a tiny bit of the game previous to the Gamescom video. We were given a debut trailer in 2019 that showed off the franchise’s flashy new visual aesthetic, as well as the series’ signature comedy, albeit in a teaser that didn’t purport to indicate any gameplay:
The Setting and Gameplay of the Lego Star Wars: the Skywalker Saga
Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Narrative has the remarkable ability to adapt stories from throughout the entire ‘Skywalker’ saga.
In other terms, you’ll be experiencing sequences from the original series (Star Wars: A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi), the prequel trilogy (The Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones, Revenge of the Sith), and the sequel trio (Star Wars: The Force Awakens) (The Force Awakens, The Last Jedi, The Rise of Skywalker).
This means that the fantastic Rogue One, Solo: A Star Wars Story, and The Mandalorian TV program will not be included. But don’t stress, because there are plenty of players to play as, including Luke Skywalker, Rey, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Finn, Leia, Yoda, Boba Fett, Darth Maul, Poe, and over 300 more playable characters like Jabba the Hut and R2D2.
If you want more options, you can purchase the Deluxe Edition of the game, which includes a ‘Character Collection’ bundle that includes six character packs featuring characters from The Mandalorian, Rogue One, Solo, as well as the new Star Wars: The Bad Batch animated series, is also an extra pack featuring ‘Classic Characters.’
Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is supposed to be a small departure from past Lego games, offering more gameplay than prior Lego games’ basic gameplay mechanics and fighting.
Lego Star Wars: the Skywalker Saga News and Rumors
What About Boba Fett?
With a brand new character trailer, Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga has been gaining traction on Twitter. After the publication of The Book of Boba Fett, the Lego Star Wars Twitter account shared a promo video of Boba Fett on Tatooine. Boba Fett carries a weapon in the video, but more significantly, he talks.
When a Twitter user queried if the audio in the film belonged to Daniel Logan, who played young Boba Fett in Attack of the Clones, Logan confirmed that it was him. It’s plausible that Logan will be the vocal of an older Boba Fett throughout the game, however, this hasn’t been yet verified.
You Get to Select the Order?
We already know that players will be able to play through all nine films in the Skywalker saga, but per the Warner Bros site for Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Sage, gamers will be able to acquire and play through all of them straight immediately “in any sequence they choose They can control where to go and how to play.” This means you’ll have a lot of flexibility and will be able to go through all of your favorite planets first.
In an interview with StarWars.com, Jonathan Smith, head of the production and strategic director at TT Games, stated that “we love stories and storytelling, but we also feel, both as gamers ourselves and with particular concern for young players driven to experimentation and change, that stories exist to be played with, however, the player wants.”
Play on the Force’s Good or Evil Side.
Users will also have accessibility to “hundreds of playable characters from around the universe and every era of the tale,” from Luke Skywalker to Darth Vader, and per the game’s Warner Bros page.
There’s Enough to Discover.
The game’s official website also shows some of the areas that users will be able to visit, including “the desert of Geonosis, the marshes of Dagobah, and the snowy peaks of Starkiller Base,” aside from space travel. It will also be able to return to a planet at any moment, so you didn’t have to think about not seeing your favorite conditions again.
