Mecanismo is a Brazilian political thriller television series created by José Padilha and Elena Soarez and produced by Felipe Prado, Padilha, and Marcos Prado. There is an investigation going on that involves the Brazilian government and some of the country’s most well-known engineering companies, Operation Car Wash. Streaming began on Netflix on March 23, 2018, with the entire first season available worldwide.
Numerous characters and businesses depicted in Operation Car Wash can be easily identified as the real people and businesses involved in Operation Car Wash despite repeated warnings that the screenplay is only loosely based on true events and that characters and stories have been customized for maximum impact.
Following Operation Car Wash, Netflix stated that it was considering developing an unnamed original show. Netflix’s second season premiered on May 10th, 2019. As of May of this year, the Mechanism is in full-scale production. The cities of Rio de Janeiro, So Paulo, Curitiba, and Brasilia were all used as shooting locations for this film.
The Mechanism Season 3 Plot
The events and characters in the show are “loosely based” on the actual developments in Brazil because the show is a depiction of the ongoing Operation Car Wash in Brazil. Since Operation Car Wash is based on real-life people and events, many of the characters and plots in the show are based on those individuals and events.
One of the most infamous corruption scandals in Latin American history, Operation Car Wash, began when the Federal Police of Brazil discovered a money trail that started in a car wash. There have been numerous high-profile political figures, including former presidents, implicated in the scandal since then, and the investigation is still ongoing.
As a show with such a sensitive subject matter, the show fictionalizes the events leading up to and following the scandal’s initial burst. While detective Marco Ruffo initially makes a breakthrough in the case by tracking down money launderer Roberto Ibrahim, his protege Verena Cardoni picks up the case years later and continues the investigation into the corruption scandal.
There are many examples of people criticizing ‘The Mechanism’, such as former President Dilma Rousseff, who was impeached in 2016 for her alleged involvement. He isn’t just republishing bogus stories. As a result, he’s become an expert in the art of fabricating news.”
Supporters of former Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva have also voiced their displeasure with the show, arguing that its inaccuracies could harm Lula’s reputation while he is still in office. “I think Lula and Dilma are helping us a great deal with the marketing of the series,” the show’s creator, José Padilha, told the New York Times.

The Mechanism Season 3 Release Date
Season 2 of The Mechanism began airing on May 10th, 2019. Ruffo’s and Cardoni’s anti-corruption investigations are still the main focus of the show. If one thing is for sure, the second season of the show did not please everyone in Brazil.
The big question now is whether Netflix will order a second season. Despite its controversial nature, the show is undeniably successful. The show’s popularity is likely to increase as a result of the controversy surrounding its content. If the show is renewed, we estimate that the third season of The Mechanism could premiere in May of 2020. This section will be updated as soon as we get any new information.
