Stuart Scurria Plane Crash
Stuart Scurria’s plane crash was reported on Friday, July 7, 2023. According to a Facebook post, A missing aircraft that was last seen on radar near Rayville Municipal Airport has been reported to the Richland Parish Sheriff’s Office by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
The Richland Parish Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that two ex-Louisiana Tech students died in a late-night plane crash.
Former Bulldog football lettermen Brad Terral, 55, and Stuart Scurria, 32, passed away from their injuries after the Beech 36 Bonanza single-engine aircraft they were in crashed in Rayville. Both men attended Louisiana Tech University to further their education.
An aircraft that had disappeared from radar was reported to the Richland Parish Sheriff’s Office by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The deputies received information about the aircraft’s last known location and immediately began searching.

RPSO deputies located the jet in a cornfield about a mile to the southwest of John H. Hooks, Jr. Memorial Airport in Rayville. the two occupants of the aircraft were both fatalities. The aircraft was a single-engine Beech 36 Bonanza.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, the FAA and National Transportation Safety Board are looking into the incident’s cause, but no other information has been provided. Scurria graduated from Delhi Charter High School before playing football for Louisiana Tech in 2009 and 2010.
