Former light heavyweight for Bellator and the PFL, Jordan Young, oveɼdosed on Fentanyl and alprazolam (Xanax) and dἰed in late 2021.
After retiring from MMA and professional wrestling, Bonnar struggled openly with substance abuse as he recovered from the numerous ἰnjuries he sustained while competing.
Despite Bonnar’s claims that he and the UFC were on poor terms following his 2012 bout with Anderson Silva, the latter’s epic Octagon debut versus Bonnar was the basis for his induction into the UFC Hall of Fame.
After his pἀssing, UFC also organized a memorial for the celebrity. Bonnar was found to have used the anabolic steroid Drostanolone in his bout with Silva.
Bonnar, with a record of 15–9 following his time in the UFC, has fought just once for Bellator, losing by a split decision to Tito Ortiz in November of 2014.
In his 15 UFC bouts, Bonnar faced off against several futures or current UFC champions, including Silva, Griffin, Ortiz, Jon Jones, Mark Coleman, Lyoto Machida, and Rashad Evans.
