Four people were shot on Wednesday afternoon in Florida, and two of those persons died, according to the sheriff’s deputies there. The incident took place in the same region where a woman’s body was discovered earlier on the same day. According to FOX 35, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office stated that one person was taken into custody following the incident that occurred in the afternoon.

Sheriff John Mina stated that authorities responded to reports of a gunshot in the same area at 4:05 p.m. and added that a reporter and photographer with Spectrum News 13 in Orlando, Florida were both shot during the incident. Mina also mentioned that a member of the News 13 staff had passed away.

After firing at the car carrying News 13, the 19-year-old suspect is claimed to have gone to a nearby residence and shot a mother and her 9-year-old daughter, according to Mina, who added that the 9-year-old had passed away as a result of her injuries.

According to Mina, the suspect, identified as 19-year-old Keith Melvin Moses, is currently in jail. Moses is suspected of being the shooter in both incidents that occurred on Wednesday, which resulted in two deaths and three injuries.

According to the sheriff, Moses has a “lengthy criminal history” that includes a variety of offenses, including burglary, grand theft, aggravated assault, aggravated battery, assault with a deadly weapon, and aggravated assault with a pistol.

He went on to say that Moses knew the woman who was shot and died this morning, but that he was not known to have any relationships to the mother, the nine-year-old child, or the journalists who were killed. According to Mina, it is not obvious why the journalists were singled out for attack.

Mina said-

“It’s unclear why exactly they were targeted. And, you know, certainly we’re going to look into that”

A shooting occurred around 11 a.m. in the Pine Hills area near Orlando, Florida, where, according to the officials, a lady in her 20s was shot and died. Deputies were the first to attend to the incident.

Fox News Digital was informed by a spokeswoman for Spectrum News that the organization is in mourning following the passing of a coworker.

“We are deeply saddened by the loss of our colleague and the other lives senselessly taken today. Our thoughts are with our employee’s family, friends and co-workers during this very difficult time. We remain hopeful that our other colleague who was injured makes a full recovery,” the spokesperson said. “This is a terrible tragedy for the Orlando community.”
